"Don't Change", llançada com a single de l'àlbum "Shabooh Shoobah" a l'octubre de 1982, va ser la cançó que va catapultar la banda a la fama internacional. El vocalista principal Michael Hutchence i el teclista Andrew Farriss van crear la cançó durant les sessions d'enregistrament del seu tercer àlbum, i ràpidament es va convertir en una favorita dels fans i una peça clau de les actuacions en directe de la banda. La vigència de la cançó és evident en les versions que en van fer artistes com Green Day i Bruce Springsteen.

La cançó té un toc desafiant, amb Hutchence protegint-se de la negativitat. Farriss va oferir aquesta explicació: "Tot canvia, res dura per sempre, i tot i així, la majoria de nosaltres en algun moment de les nostres vides volem que sigui així". La visió de Farriss captura perfectament l'essència de "Don't Change". El desafiament de la cançó a la negativitat, juntament amb el seu missatge sobre la inevitabilitat del canvi, expressa les diferents etapes per les quals passem a la vida i els reptes que ens presenta.

El vídeo musical, tot i ser senzill, captura eficaçment l'energia juvenil i el carisma de la banda, especialment la presència magnètica a l'escenari de Michael Hutchence. Malgrat el canvi d’ubicació inicialment previst a una pista de l'aeroport a un hangar proper a causa del mal temps, el vídeo musical dirigit per Scott Hicks, va mantenir la seva essència original.

"Don't Change" va ser el primer himne autèntic d'INXS, reservat com a bis fins al final de la seva carrera. És destacable assenyalar que aquesta cançó va marcar el final d'una època per al grup ja que va ser la seva darrera interpretació en viu. Tancant el seu concert a Perth Arena el 11 de novembre de 2012, durant una gira com a teloners per a Matchbox Twenty, la banda va sorprendre l'audiència anunciant des de l'escenari que seria el seu últim concert. La notícia es va confirmar en un comunicat dos dies després.

Farriss offered this explanation: "Everything changes, nothing lasts forever, and yet most of us at some point in our lives want it to be that way." Farriss' vision perfectly captures the essence of "Don't Change." The song's challenge to negativity, along with its underlying message about the inevitability of change, expresses the different stages that life goes through and the challenges it presents us.

The music video, although simple, effectively captures the youthful energy and charisma of the band, particularly Michael Hutchence's magnetic stage presence. Despite the change in location from an airport runway to a nearby hangar due to bad weather, the music video for "Don't Change," directed by Scott Hicks, maintained its original essence. 

"Don't Change" was INXS first genuine anthem, reserved as an encore until the end of their career. It's poignant to note that this song marked the end of an era for INXS, serving as their final live performance. Closing their set at Perth Arena on November 11, 2012, during a tour as the opening act for Matchbox Twenty, the band surprised the audience by announcing from the stage that it would be their last show. The news was confirmed in a statement two days later.
