Tot i l’encant subtil del film, el que realment va perdurar més en la memòria col·lectiva van ser les seves últimes notes—una peça instrumental anomenada “Going Home”, composada i interpretada per Mark Knopfler.

Conegut mundialment com el carismàtic líder de Dire Straits, Knopfler es va aventurar per primera vegada en solitari amb aquesta composició, allunyant-se dels grans solos de guitarra de rock d’estadi per submergir-se en un món més contemplatiu i introspectiu. “Going Home” no cridava l’atenció—la guanyava a través de la seva delicadesa.

Knopfler, freshly crowned rock royalty from his days as frontman of Dire Straits, stepped into the world of solo composition with this piece—his first solo single, and a departure from stadium-sized riffs to something more meditative and elegiac. He brought with him a reverence for space, melody, and restraint. “Going Home” wasn’t a song that demanded attention—it earned it quietly.
