"Can't Buy Me Love," publicada el març de 1964, va ser la cara A del seu sisè senzill. Escrita per Paul McCartney i acreditada al duo Lennon–McCartney, la cançó transmetia un missatge senzill però profund sobre les prioritats de la vida. Malgrat els rumors que suggerien el contrari, McCartney va aclarir que no es tractava d'una prostituta. En aquesta pista, Paul McCartney va assumir la veu principal, marcant una de les primeres ocasions en què només un membre dels Beatles feia la veu principal en una cançó. "Can't Buy Me Love" es va enregistrar el 29 de gener de 1964 als estudis Pathe Marconi de l'EMI a París durant un període en què els Beatles estaven immersos en una sèrie de concerts a l'Olympia Theatre. La sessió d'enregistrament també va incloure la gravació de versions en alemany de "She Loves You" i "I Want to Hold Your Hand" per satisfer el mercat teutó. La veu final de McCartney per a "Can't Buy Me Love" es va sobreposar als estudis EMI, Abbey Road, Londres, el 25 de febrer de 1964. "Can't Buy Me Love" released in March 1964, served as the A-side of their sixth single. Penned by Paul McCartney and credited to the Lennon–McCartney duo, the song delivered a straightforward yet profound message about life's priorities. Despite rumors suggesting otherwise, McCartney clarified that it was not about a prostitute. The track found a place on the band's album "A Hard Day's Night" and featured prominently in Richard Lester's film of the same name. In the UK, it ranked as the fourth highest-selling single of the 1960s. "Can't Buy Me Love" stands out as one of the first pop songs to open with the chorus rather than a verse, a creative choice suggested by producer George Martin. 

In this track, Paul McCartney took the lead vocal, marking one of the early instances where only one member of the Beatles performed the lead in a song. "Can't Buy Me Love" was recorded on January 29, 1964, at EMI's Pathe Marconi Studios in Paris, France, during a period when the Beatles were engaged in a series of concerts at the Olympia Theatre. The recording session also involved work on German-language versions of "She Loves You" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand" to cater to the German market. In a hurriedly arranged session, George Martin presented a newly mastered rhythm track for "Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand" ("I Want to Hold Your Hand" in German), and the Beatles re-recorded the vocals for it and "Sie Liebt Dich""She Loves You" in German). Following this, the band had the opportunity to record the backing track, with a guide vocal, for the recently composed "Can't Buy Me Love". Interestingly, the first take included background vocal harmonies, but after a listening session, the Beatles decided that the song didn't require them. Consequently, "Can't Buy Me Love" became the first single released by the Beatles without their characteristic background harmonies.

McCartney's final vocal for "Can't Buy Me Love" was overdubbed at EMI Studios, Abbey Road, London, on February 25, 1964. On the same day, George Harrison's guitar solo was re-recorded, although traces of his original solo from the Paris recording session can still be heard faintly in the background. Harrison explained the situation, noting that they initially recorded in Paris and then re-recorded in England. Due to the limited availability of tracks in those days, the background features a quieter version of the solo recorded in Paris, audible behind the re-recorded version done in London.

"Can't Buy Me Love" achieved remarkable success in the US, topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart for five weeks. The song set several records on the Hot 100:

1. Until the use of SoundScan in 1991, it had the biggest jump to the top position, climbing from number 27 to number 1.

2. The Beatles secured three consecutive chart-topping singles, with "I Want to Hold Your Hand" followed by "She Loves You," and then "Can't Buy Me Love." These three songs collectively spent 14 consecutive weeks at number 1, marking the only time an artist had three consecutive number 1 singles.

3. On April 4, 1964, when "Can't Buy Me Love" reached number 1, the Beatles monopolized the entire top five on the Hot 100. The following positions were filled by "Twist and Shout," "She Loves You," "I Want to Hold Your Hand," and "Please Please Me," respectively. This record remained unbroken until 2022.

4. During its second week at number 1, the Beatles had fourteen songs on the Hot 100 simultaneously, showcasing their unprecedented dominance on the chart.
