"Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" és una col·laboració entre Stevie Nicks i Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, utilitzada com a primer senzill del primer àlbum en solitari de Nicks, "Bella Donna". While many of Stevie Nicks' songs delve into the complexities of love and heartbreak, this particular track allowed her to explore similar themes without drawing from her personal experiences.

"Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" stands as the most successful single for both Stevie Nicks as a solo artist and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. At the time of its release, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers had another single, "Woman In Love," competing on the charts, which failed to make an impact. Five years later, the two artists collaborated again, achieving moderate success with a live rendition of the Springfields/Searchers classic "Needles and Pins," which peaked at number 37 on the charts.
